Eeek! I can’t believe Spooky season is here! And what’s a better way to start the season than to get creative and embrace your artistic side. Come on, grab your Cricut machine and lets make this easy Halloween craft.
The weeks leading to October 31st is one of the best time to decorate and even be brave enough to DIY a costume. It’s no surprise that every year I decorate my home for Halloween (along with all the other holidays…ha!)
A few years ago, I came up with the idea to create an easy Halloween craft by making these adorable bat napkin rings. I used cardstock paper and my Cricut machine. Aren’t they the cutest?
If you have a Cricut somewhere in your house collecting dust, get it out and let’s get crafty. I guarantee you it will be effortless and you will be “dying” to craft some more.
List of materials:
- Cricut Machine– I am using my Cricut Air Explorer 2
- Cricut DesignSpace Software
- 12’x12’ Cutting mat
- Black cardstock paper
Instructions:
- Log on to your Cricut DesignSpace Software and open “New Canvas”
- Upload your bat file (SVG,PDF, JPEG or PNG) by clicking the ”Upload” button
- Resize the Bat to whatever size you like and click on “Shapes” to add a circle
- Add the circle shape over the bat, highlight the image and click on “Slice”. Remove the circles from the bats. You should now have a hole in the middle.
- Highlight the image. After that, click on “Duplicate” to make more bats. Click “Make it” and as you can see, Design Space will automatically arrange the images to fit on the mat properly. Don’t forget to select the correct material before cutting. It’s an important step that it’s often overlooked.
Once your bats are cut, grab those festive napkins and style them using your new napkin rings.
So, what do you think of this project? It’s pretty easy, right? I am obsessed!
I hope this tutorial inspires you to continue to create many fun and creative projects using your Cricut machine. Need more ideas, keep checking this blog and make sure you are following me on Pinterest.
