The days are flying by! Welcome to the second week of Spring 2021 One Room Challenge. I am calling this week, The Vision. As you probably know (if you are following me on Instagram) that I joined this challenge to transform my future office and craft room. Each week, I share a snippet of the progress and how I am planning to bring my vision to life.
Last week, I shared on the blog the current state of the room, the flooring and my current office and craft room location. For this week, allow me to reveal: THE VISION.
This is the vision board (mood board) of what I intend to use as my guide for my office and craft room. I have selected wallpaper samples, light fixtures, paint color and of course, the most important item; the desk.
Let’s focus on each element and category and why they will play an important role into making my dream come true.
Flooring:
As you can see, the floors are ready. We recently installed Glenwood Cherry, which is a wood-like ceramic tile. Just perfect for me!
Wallpaper:
I am in the market to find the best wallpaper for the main wall. I want to find the one that jumps at me and screams “Pick Me,Pick Me!”
Would it be neutral? Patterned? Geometric? Colorful? I don’t know. We will have to wait and see!
Paint:
As of right now, it all depends on the wallpaper and if we find the perfect desk or built-ins. However, I know that I want to use Norwegian Blue by Berh. I did a project previously (check it out) with that color and let me tell you…… I am a fan! It’s the perfect moody blue.
Lighting:
I want to add the POP of gold throughout the room. I just think that any of these “spotlight” light fixtures will make the office appear more polished and sophisticated. The gold can also be brought in through the wallpaper, drawer handles and of course the accessories.
Desk/Built-ins:
The desk you see here is the Logan desk sold at Pottery Barn. The price is way out of my price range but I am determined to find an alternative to this look. Who knows, I might even come up with a plan to build it. I have never built a desk before, but as you know, I am always up for a challenge!
Miscellaneous:
On the board, I have this pretty rug I found on Wayfair. I think it incorporates the colors that I like and will most likely display around the room.
Styling the bookshelves will be a breeze. I will be using different items such as my Cricut, books, plants, art and all those little trinkets that brings me joy and warms up my soul. With many deciding factors taking place with week, I need to narrow down and select the “winner” of each category.
I am really excited to be part of the Better Homes and Gardens Spring 2021 One Room Challenge. There are so many talented people participating. Head over here and check them out!
