Ahhh! I am so excited and I just can’t hide it! I will be a participating in the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge as a guest blogger! This is my first time being part of this event and to say I am thrilled it’s an understatement. I mean, so many talented DIYers, designers, bloggers and influencers have joined this event and I seriously cannot wait to see what we will all create.
ORC is a forum where all participants get to share the progress of creating or transforming a room of our choice. There is even an opportunity to be selected as a featured designer by the editors of Better Homes and Gardens. The beauty of this challenge is that it’s not a competition, rather a place were we can all come together with our unique styles, share our creativity and also encourage each other to complete the project from start to finish.
For the next 8 weeks, every Thursday I will share the ideas and progress here on the blog and on my Instagram. I want to be able to show you all the details, the process and even the mayhem behind the scenes.
The room I chose for this challenge is a bedroom that we recently emptied out. It will be transformed into my office and craft room. At the present time, my little safe haven aka office/craft room is in a small area in the laundry room. It was the only place I had available, so I made sure to make it pretty and cozy just for me.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that just a few weeks ago, we ripped out the carpet in the room and had ceramic wood-like tile installed. We were already installing tile in our master bedroom and closet and we knew we wanted this extra room to have flooring as well because eventually it was going to be my new “mom cave”. After much thoughts and research, we decided on the perfect wood-like tile for us and gave the room a “glow-up”.
The room is a “flawless” and clean slate. It really can be converted into anything. My ideas for this space is always evolving. Everyday I see different designs and elements that catches my eyes. Therefore, my plan for next week is to create a mood board and narrow down my “must haves” and needs. I am eager to select the elements and show you which design I would like to bring to life.
In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this One Room Challenge. I know for a fact that the next 8 weeks are going to be eventful. Each week I will share the progress of the room along with all the details. So, make sure you are following through and check in every Thursday until the end of June.

I’m so excited to see what you do to this room.
How durable is the ceramic tile hardwood floor? I love it.

Thank you so much , Lita. The floors are wonderful, you treat them just like regular ceramic tiles. The only thing you need to worry about is if something super heavy falls on it, they can crack.
