Spring 2023 One Room Challenge- Week 8
Oh My Goodness! The day has arrived and I am beyond excited for the reveal of the gentleman’s bathroom. For the last 8 weeks, I have been overworking my brain. Designing the space, selecting the items and lastly, unfolding the vision.
The last 7 weeks of the One Room Challenge with Apartment Therapy have been filled with many adventures. You can check out the progress of the project development here:

Let’s go down memory lane…..
Here is the bathroom before renovation. It was just a simple, builder grade bathroom in need of some pizzazz.
When I started the design process of the gentleman’s bathroom, I knew I wanted to create something that delivers strong masculine characteristics. Every element was carefully selected, from the color scheme, geometric patterns and mixed materials; this bathroom is set to impress it’s guests.
From the beginning of this project, the goal has been to renovate but stay “low budget”. If you have champagne taste with a beer budget like me, this is proof that you can transform any room without digging deep into your pockets.
Below are all the resources and how I kept the transformation low-budget.
Paint– We used Behr in Midnight Blue in the eggshell finish. Using this shade of blue was the ideal moody hue to set the tone of the room.
Ceiling– We created a faux beam look using wooden boards on the ceiling. The warm wood alongside the dark blue pairs so well in conveying that masculine aesthetics.
Wallpaper– I collaborated with Tempaper for this stunning peel and stick wallpaper. I chose the Faux Grasscloth Geo in the color Seagrass.
Art– Choosing the perfect artwork was a bit of a challenge. I had so many options to choose from but the Victorian fox in a suit won me over. I purchase the print from Zyonpark on Etsy.
Hardware– For the cabinets, I changed out the boring nickel handles for these stunning and sleek gold ones. They truly elevated the look.
Lastly, the bathroom door handle! I wrecked my brain looking for something that would totally blow your mind. And since I didn’t find it, I DIYed the door handle. Check it out, isn’t it stunning? It’s giving me that perfect edgy, mid-century and vintage flair.
All the hard work and sweat that took place in order to bring my vision to life has been totally worth it. I hope you are just as excited as me about the reveal of the gentleman’s bathroom.
It’s been an honor to participate again in the One Room challenge along with so many talented people. I have no doubt that each participant are proud of their hard work. You can check them out here.
Until next time!
